Sessions #25 and #26

Up, down and all around. That seems to be my poker game this year. Session #25 saw me playing a few hours of $3/$6 and an hour or so of $4/$8 ½Kill. I was up initially to the tune of around $80 but then I dropped it all and then some during the 4/8 session.

Session Total = -$130.

Sessions #26 was the clubhouse's first Saturday of all-day $1/$2 no-limit but not enough no limit players showed up at 11:30 so they started the game with $3/$6 limit and I got frustrated about ten hands in after getting run down by flush and straight chasers who would have been nowhere near my pot if this had been the no-limit game. So I stood up and told the houseman that I'll sit out and wait for the no-limit game which started about 15 minutes after that.

In poker, it really is funny how the cards will turn cold on you. I don't think I could count the number of 6/10, 7/8, 2/6 and likewise hands that I received. I also had big slick five times, all of which I played slightly different, but none of which hit and all that I had to lay down. I had pocket aces once and laid them down on the turn when I correctly read a guy for the flush that cost me $50 of mine in the pot. I also laid down A-K with another $50 of mine in the pot when I correctly read a supertight player for A-K prompting the fellows next to me to comment "nice laydown" after seeing his cards while going "why are you laying that down?" before they saw his cards.

My final hand of the day was in the big blind with Q-J and the flop comes J-Q-x with two diamonds. I fire $16 (more than half my stack at that point) in the pot and get called by mid-position and small blind. The turn brings another diamond, small blind checks and I push my last $12 in and mid-position calls, small blind pushes all-in, mid-position folds and small blind shows J-7 of diamonds for the made flush. I've got a few outs but he has one of them just to cut my odds down that much more and the river is a rag.
