Session #54 - Full Value Gutshot

So I showed up at the clubhouse today around 2:30 and sat down to the daytime $3/$6 limit game with the full intention of checking all the way to 5:00 when the no-limit game would start. The height of the $3/$6 game was when I flopped trips holding AJ offsuit and the flop came 6-J-J and the turn tightened me up with a six and I was heads up on a side pot since the third player was all-in. I had everyone beat but the river was the case jack which gave me the high hand for the time period (the clubhouse pays out to the high hand for every five hour period) with only 5 minutes left to go in this particular five hour slot. And I did it in style by beating the previous high hand of J-J-J-J-Q, beating his kicker by two cards! You should have heard him grown! Lol!

So I head into the NL switchover $60 up and had to take down my stack to $100, as everyone did, since the max buy-in to the no-limit game was $100. I flopped a couple of big draws which didn't pan out and when I decided to make a semi-bluff move against one of the older guys in the club he called me with JJ and neither my flush draw, nor ace hit and I was forced to rebuy.

The hand of the night for me came in the form of JQ suited on the button and it was made $10 to go before the flop and there was me, bikerboy in 1st position loose aggressive and a mid-position loose passive/aggressive. The flop comes down 8-9-4 and bikerboy bets $6 and we both call. The turn hits me right in the gut with a 10 and bikerboy bets $20, middle calls and I raise all-in for $60 more. After much humming and hawing, bikerboy calls. After even much more humming and hawing, middle spot throws away his 77 (too bad!) and the river makes a flush on board but bikerboy doesn't have it (I never did see his hand, he got away without showing it) and I zoom up to $200+ in chips.

I pumped a bit off before I left but it was getting late for me and I was forced to go.
