Session #82 - So Much For A Break

I popped into the club on Wednesday to pay off my sheet and TJ says "You're number one on the list" and I think "Well, whatever, I do have a couple hours to kill." Next thing you know I've sat down and I'm having a pretty good session. That's the lure of poker for you. When you're down, you're really down on yourself and when you're up, you're having the time of your life. I think the road to becoming a good or great poker player is paved with obstacles for you to conquer your emotional stability at the table and your ability to absorb the inevitable beats.

So when it comes to this hard-to-beat $3/$6 game, perhaps it isn't as hard to beat as one might think. Know the players at the table, know your emotions, know your limits, know the dynamics of the table, know the cards to play in the position your at, know the reactions of your opponents and what they mean for any given hand. The list goes on and to beat it, you have to be part of it and be aware of it.

Am I there yet? No. But I'm working on it.
