Session #55 - Busted With My Hand In The Cookie Jar

I had a pretty damn good session today. Got to the clubhouse at just after 11:00 am and there was already a game in play. I sat down and won my first hand with K-10 after flopping a set of tens with two callers all the way to the end. I was off to a great start. Two hands later I hit a set of jacks which held up again. About four hands after that I hit a set of threes which held up. I was already up $80 and ready for more. Within the next dozen hands I flopped the nut flush.... twice! Got paid off for one of them.

The hand of the day for me, however, was not one in which I ended up stacking the chips at the end. I was sitting on the button with 7-8 suited and flopped a flush draw with A-K-K on board. The turn and river were inconsequential but I was betting on the come and I made a continuation bet on the river when all four other players checked to me. All folded except for Tess who I think called me down just to see what I had but the bugger had jack high which beat my no-pair flush draw! Ack! Hand in the cookie jar indeed. He was pretty proud of himself after that showdown. Next hand I made a flush on the turn and bet it hard all the way and had BikerBoy calling me (maybe thought I was on tilt?), so I made back everything from the previous hand and then some.
