Session #56 - Somedays you're the pigeon. Somedays you're the statue.

Today I might as well have been carved by Michelangelo himself. First hand I played was about five hands into the start of the Saturday $1/$2 no-limit game at the clubhouse. I'm looking at pocket aces on the button. UTG raises to $8, middle position calls, I raise to $16, UTG calls and middle positions maxes it out to the club rule of $25 max pre-flop. The flop comes down 4c-Th-Jh. UTG bets out $20, middle position moves all-in and has both of us covered. I call with my rockets hoping he has AJ suited (turns out he has the other two aces, so neither of our hands can really improve) and UTG cals with K-J suited. Well, by now I'm sure you've guessed what the turn is right? Yeah, that's it.... a jack. UTG busts us with trips on the turn. I'm not sure how he made that call but he is a pretty loose player so chalk it up to him getting lucky.

Unfortunately, that was just the start of my day as I ran into shitty hand after shitty hand. Sets getting busted by bigger sets. People making their chased card on the river on me. It was surreal how bad it was. I took a real beating today.

Final hand saw me with $14 left and AK suited in UTG + 2. Old deaf guy calls me with KK and no ace falls. I'd been beat up more than enough so I packed it in for the day, and probably the week. Maybe even longer.
